Computer Lab Program
York Elementary School has three computer labs integrated as part of the schoolwide instructional program. Every student has access to a computer two to three times per week during the school year. Each lab includes greater than sixteen computers with a variety of instructional software for all grade levels.
K - 1 Computer Lab: provides additional instruction for reading and writing skills
Language Arts Lab: serves grades 2 thru 5 and focuses on basic language arts skills, as well as higher order thinking skills
Upper Grade Math/Language Lab: primarily serves grades 6 thru 8 (some time available for 5th) with additional math and vocabulary instruction and practice
Each lab allows for individualization for each student to improve academic skills. Time is allocated after achievement testing for basic computer skills instruction.
