Goal

To increase our scores on the reading and language arts portions of the State Report Card from a C to a B and to reach Dibels end of the year benchmarks in grades K (35), 1st (40), 2nd (90).

Which Need(s) does this Goal address?

More students need to score in the advanced level instead of the proficient level of reading and language arts section of the Terra Nova Test and on the advanced level of the Dibels Test.

How is this Goal linked to the system’s Five-Year Plan?

Challenge #18

Increase achievement scores and gains as compared to the National and State indicators.

At least one hour of staff development will follow the review of our A.R. resources to ensure that all teachers of reading are following the program as adopted. 

Staff development may be needed to implement strategies to improve student ability to apply thinking and reasoning skills across the curriculum.

Parent representatives on our Leadership Team will take part in on-going work related to assessment and planning.
