Family Reading Night |
Family Reading Night is a weekly event which combines parent involvement and the Accelerated Reading program. Families read AR books together and students test on the books to earn AR points. |
Book Cooks |
A monthly event held in conjunction with Family Reading Night and the Accelerated Reading Program. An accelerated reading story is combined with lessons on nutrition and healthy eating. |
Character Counts |
Promotes the seven pillars of character education throughout the school year. The pillars include: Respect; Responsibility; Citizenship; Fairness; Honesty; Caring; and Trustworthiness. These are taught in weekly guidance classes and reinforced in the regular classroom. |
| Science Fair |
Each spring students are encouraged to prepare a science project with grade level winners competing in the Fentress County Science Fair. This activity is a great way for students to apply and share what they have learned in science throughout the year. |
Educational Fair |
At the end of each school year competitions are held in spelling, reading, piano, vocal solos and poetry recitation among Fentress County students. These events highlight the accomplishments of our students. |
Track and Field Day |
Various Competitions in individual and group sporting events are held during the spring to showcase our students physical education progress. |
Beta Club |
Allardt plans to start a Jr. Beta Club this year to promote academic excellence and scholarship. |
Allardt Cloggers |
Allardt students interested in learning to dance may take clogging classes. Our students have performed at Dollywood and the Museum of Appalachia as well as many local events showcasing their talent. |
Drama Club |
Aspiring actors and actresses now have an opportunity to apply their talents in the newly formed drama club. This year they put on several well-received plays at Allardt and other county schools. |
Recycling Projects |
To help foster citizenship and stewardship, Allardt school conducts several recycling projects. Currently students and staff collect used printer ink cartridges, Campbell's soup labels, Food City grocery receipts and aluminum cans. In addition, several times throughout the year food and troop drives are conducted. |
| Christian Club |
Allardt students can join together in a nondenominational support group. |
Newspaper Staff |
Students learn journalism and newspaper basics. |
